Beneteau Oceanis 350 curved window replacement

That is what i thought but the person i spoke to really didnt have a clue nor wanted to waste any of her time.

Well, Dickies were (are?) good Benny agents, and would know.

If not, try giving Project Plastics a call in Colchester. They have a can do attitude.

Try your dealer, or try Beneteau http://www.beneteau.com themselves

Dealer I spoke with not interested at all unless I send drawings and hull number, Beneteau say speak to Dealer for spares, catch 22.

You'd think the boat was a one off special they way they are acting, but it was mass produced for the charter market, and most now have mild to severe crazing of these windows.

I guess Dickies are too big to worry about thi sort of thing - all they want is new boat sales. It's very similar to dealing with a local car dealer 10 years ago.

All I'm after is a rough cost for replacing them on a potential purchase.

My next step would be to, contact Yachting Monthly. They can contact Beneteaus PR people, and use the contacts they have to find out your next step. That's the sort of thing the Any Questions bit is for :)

Done

:) You can take the boy out of......

If it were my boat I would use the old windows to make moulds for solid fiberglass panels. Those windows were IMO a stupid idea from the start and are very difficult to make in case they're not available from Benetau and even if they are they'll be pricy.

I have the same windows on my 390. I'd also like to replace mine.

The problem really only lies with the two curved panels. The centre panel and the two flat side panels can be cut from a single sheet of 10 mm smoked acrylic sheet for around £300.

The solution for he wrapover side panels may be either o replace with solid or cored GRP panels or to use the originals as templates for replacements. Either way £1500 for two panels is way more than it will cost to do Outside he Benetteau network.

If you are interested in collaborating on a replacement project i'd be up for it.

I am having a curved 3 panel screen developed for my Jeanneau. Tooling is over £2K, with out cost of materials and labour to mould and finish them

So, the cost you have in front of you is actually not bad at all.

Au contraire. Benny should already have the tooling- they made quite a lot of them. Blatant rip of.

I agree. I was just giving you a comparator to new project costs.

If of interest, Jeanneau don't keep mouldings - I cant get a replacement binnacle top instrument mount half in GRP - and that for a 2005 boat.

I have a 390 and am also interested in sorting the wraparound windows - fed up trying to sikaflex the leaks. Although if i ship her back to uk next year i fear that'll blow my discretionary maintenance budget for the year but if i don't...maybe i can treat her to some smart new windows

I am in the process of possibly buying a 350,that said i contacted Beneteau and told me that they dont make these windows any more and there is no solution to that.

So what am i supposed to do if i get a crack?
