Love the place, but what is the spat between the Bembridge Harbour Trust and the Harbour company all about, and is it going to cause a problem for us boaters next year?

The owners of Bembridge are fully committed to making it compete in facilities terms with other Solent ports, they are working tirelessly at and investing heavily.

No risk to boating enjoyment and I say Bravo to them.

I lived in bembridge in younger years........a lot of posh numpties around there with time on their hands to get the hump over progress.

Let’s not forget what an eye sore it’s been for years with slowly rotting house boats strewn along the shore.

I love the place, but Mrs FP is not a fan of the facilities.
An upgrade would silence the objections and result in us being more frequent visitors.

We love the place too. Nothing better than breakfast from the Ralvins on a sunny Sunday morning watching the boats coming in and going out. Hopefully everything is sorted now as the facilities really do need to be updated. I posted here because there seems to have been the mother and father of a spat between the harbour company and Bembridge Harbour Trust going on all year. This from the Harbour company

We totally and fully support a democratic planning process which allows for scrutiny and demands accountability. Unfortunately, BHT have chosen to continuously and consistently misrepresent and undermine the Harbour management, continuing to promote misinformed financial claims after they have been comprehensively disproved, in order to create and foster mistrust and suspicion. This has continued even after a full report by the government's District Valuation Office, commissioned at BHT’s request by the IOWC, which validated the financial viability appraisal presented as part of our application.
