Is it too early to start predicting, tempting fate with a weather forecast?!

9 days to go...
Tell me about it!
At ten to three this morning we get a phone call from the MIL's carer, she spoke to 'er indoors, her mother is crying out with pain, (MIL is terminally ill, cancer) we get up, go to MIL's flat, phone for an ambulance, it arrives, takes wife and MIL to Southampton General, I return home at 0415,I'm sat here thinking this is likely to feck up our weekend that's been booked since before christmas, Celtic Royal booked and paid for, car MOT'd, serviced and ready for launch next Friday, waiting now to see if we will still attend or not!
Do I sound ungrateful, Bet your arse I do, there has never been any love lost between myself and MIL no matter what we've done for her, it never really meets her exacting standards, she has always wanted more, I can't agree with Gary that I'm excited by this GTG next weekend, but we were both looking forward to it, a chance to get away from the months of gloom visiting a dying person, now it's all dependant on what happens in the next couple of days.
Sorry guys, I'm just a bit pissed off at the moment, and tired.
So this time next week we will all be asleep after our revels, sleeping off the food and the booze, I must say Steve have done an excellent job of organising the 'bash' and I am looking forward to meeting some old friends and meeting some new ones, Tomorrow I am off to visit Haydn, as I shall not be able to do so next weekend, Shame that Cozzykim has cancelled and I hope epervier can manage to get some R&R. I do not know what time you good folks are meeting up but I shall be in the 'Princpality' from about mid-day. So if you could pm me Steve with your number I can give you a 'bell' once I have checked into my digs.
Look forward to seeing you all next week.
Mal
p.s. Do you think I should change my username now that Sultan has gone?
Another really looking forward to this and counting the days!
Went down to Plymouth for some boat testing this afternoon and all seems good on that front - a good thing as working the next 4 days from 5:30am... Issues with gearbox on the car, but pretty confident it can manage towing for the 650 or so mile round tripIt's had two oil changes and 3 bottles of Lucas stop-stick stuff, but still persistent up-shift issue 3rd to 4th. I suspect the box is on it's last legs, but doesn't slip in gear, so will manage it (I hope)
Duncan's sorted a B&B close to the Premier Inn and we're intending to drive up starting out 06:30 Friday. We have boat storage sorted at Ty Calch organised by the rib guys, so will probably hook up will them at the Blackboy Inn on Friday to firm up plans for the run through the Straits, Puffin Island and Conway Castle on Saturday :encouragement:
Really looking forward to the Saturday evening gathering however and really appreciate all the info and updates - should be a great weekend! Will probably head back early on Sunday as we're both working Monday
Fingers crossed for the weather...
If you want to know what is going on with the tides next weekend this is a very very useful link to a spreadsheet that you can down load.

Go to second page
enter Fridays date in top left hand corner and you get highs and lows and slacks at key points.
Not so important to you speed freaks other than avoiding big wind against tide waves and bad backs!
Kwak are you leaving your rib at vicky dock or pd
Dunno yet M8, we got 2 boats in PD and 2 in Port Penrhyn at the moKwak are you leaving your rib at vicky dock or pd

At the mo tiss busy with Trips and Training
I will probably shunt craft about Friday in readiness
I,m thinking of stickin 1 in Victoria dock Friday PM but I aint asked yet!!
Anyway there will be a RIB about somewhere close for the early birds should they want a blast on Friday
Saturday the tides will be ok to leg it from the Caernarfon area from 13.00 onwards I reckon.
Don't suppose anyone will want an early one on Sunday, plus the weather (ref rain and wind) looks the worst of the weekend
But Sunday I will be around too with sumatt floaty.
Monday sees us afloat with some Common Tater from the BBC telly dept who wanna do some commentating and filming up and down the river!
So we gotta have a boat for that, that aint bust cos that's money!
:encouragement:
Question is:
How many days has Richard been on the wagon for in preparation for this weekend?
Perhaps we should have a sweep stake the winner to donate to Richard's favourite charity?
DOES THE raggie club know what they are in for
