Beer and natter in Howth

The boat is inland on the Shannon but Howth is where I live. Howth Yacht Clubs marina is good, accessible at all state of tide for motorboats. Diesel is available along with the usual facilities. Most importantly, there is a good bar which welcomes visitors. The club is busy, mostly with sailing but its lively, busy and fun. I would advise contacting the Marina Office before travelling, contact details are at www.hyc.ie

As for Howth itself, its 40min from Dublin city centre by bus or commuter train. Someone mentioned Golf clubs, locally there are two and one (Deerpark) offers very reasonable pay for play. Nice walks/views from both courses. In normal times we are spoiled with places to eat and drink. Weekends can be very busy if the weather is nice, weekdays less so. There are nice cliff and mountain walks with great views of Dublin Bay, another option is an offroad ebike tour which is great craic actually and not nearly as perilous as it sounds. All in all its a bit of a playground - a very good option for a p1ss up or to explore locally or for a foray into Dublin.

Other options are Malahide to the north and Dun Laoghaire to the south. Both have good marinas and bus and rail commuter links to Dublin, both are decent places to visit but I think Howth is better (obviously!) as there's more to do.

Not sure how realistic this all might be this summer however - we are under a strict lockdown at the moment obviously. Seems to be getting better but they have upped restrictions on people visiting the state. Things might change, they are talking about a two island approach to quarantine for UK and Ireland which I think has merit but its in the lap of the gods at the moment.

Don’t encourage the Welsh mob to descend on you!

One will come charging in.....superchargers whining.....the other going round and round in circles with bow....and now stern thruster blasting away!

Be fair. Roy has never been known to damage more than 3 boats per docking and even then it's limited to a bit of gelcoat scraping. Nothing a quick dash of paint doesn't hide.

Do we have to fly the euro flag on entry as i bunt mine on new years eve.

Mike would love Boris to fail , vac count does not include peeps that have had their second jab , and that is quite a few.
They issue all three figures, total doses administered, second does administered. As well as the total number of people vaccinated (a-b=c).

Roy? Does Ferris know he'll have to meet you at the Conwy fairway and lead you all the way? Preferably by tow rope?

Lads, be mindful that there are fewer ferry’s doing the Holyhead to Dublin route post Brexit so you might have no ferry to follow. ?
And check your course leaving Dublin, some of the ferry’s are now heading straight to France

Well we certainly wont be coming to IOM. Despite your recent boasting it seems you're heading back into lockdown just in time for the Welsh Mob to head out. Or is that because of?

Wasn’t boasting....3 week lockdown again. Hardly a huge surprise. The narrative is turning towards living with it rather than elimination. That’s good news as elimination is a short term solution. I need to go boat shopping when the borders open! ???

I’ve seen a formula with pink stripes and a dragon on the side.

very on brand ???
