But we will all have to stay locked up in case we somehow infect someone who decided not to have the jab. If we have all had a jab by then and they haven’t opened up then it begs the question as to the purpose of the jab in the first place. Rant over!!
 
If the vaccines prove effective in reducing viral shedding and onwards transmission then this is all but done ???

Yeah right. But I'm afraid the precedent has been set. The value of freedom in peaceful times just hit the skids. If I said 3 years ago the Govt could effectively place the nation under house arrest for a year I'd have been riduculed. Now its the norm and the majority are eager to comply. (I understand the rationale but fear the precendent)

No thats not gonna happen :rolleyes:

In the last 4 weeks they have vaccinated around 15 million people with their first dose.

And in another 4 weeks they will have to stop giving people their first doses because they will need to focus on giving everyone their second doses.

So that will be 30 million people fully vaccinated in a time scale of 6 months since vaccinations started.

Then it will take another 6 months to do the other 30-40 million people.

So hopefully in 2 months because the first 30 million fully vaccinated people will average above the age of 50 years old they will have to make a decision to start easing lockdown. But this government are cowards so it will probably take 6 months to get our freedom back.

But at that point we will be in another winter fly season so they will impose new restrictions because of a spike in Covid/flu infections.

This is not going to end any time soon.

So thats why as soon as i can travel i am moving to Florida for the foreseeable future where they value freedom above everything else

I think people are forgetting the recent past. The people begged the government for lockdown. Even now , no government minister can appear on tv without being abused because they haven’t closed the country down. The first lockdown was purely due to public pressure because that’s what they did in Italy, so it must be right. I doubt the government really wants any of these extreme restrictions

Other vaccines coming too though so that will speed things up. Johnsons one shot will be super helpful.

you don’t need to stop people getting COVID.....you need to stop them getting so unwell

Until people respect COVID we hav e no chance , every day I see people talking to each other without masks , I was in wales last week where they know I am from Stoke still want to talk without masks , so. Stupid even between eccentric other no distance. I. can’t. See it going away.

Its a vaccine not a cure. Lots of people are still going to get Covid.

Except the 99.5% of the people want get seriously ill.........most people wont even know that have it

Lockdowns havent worked. Its time to end the experiment

we need to be running at around a million vac a week soon if vaccines are required twice a year for everyone over 18.

Florida have done 'Nothing' and they have the same infection rates as California that has been in lockdown for over 8 months. And Florida haven't destroyed their economy

Im just suggesting that we try something different as we've been in Lockdown since December and the deaths are the same numbers as they were in October

The death rate hasn't been constant during that time but death rate has declined with decline in infection rates . This is despite very cold weather ...... we know the virus thrives on cold temperatures. I think the lockdown must have been a contributory factor.

Hopefully we will start to see benefits from vaccinations and the virus will decline in the summer as it did last year .
