As this is my first post here on Scuttlebug,
And being of a fragile disposition,
I would please ask that you treat me kindly!
I have been following events here for a couple of weeks,
And have reached the conclusion that it is not suitable for children or those of a timid nature.
There appears to be a high casualty rate if you do not follow the rulesAnd heaven help you if appear to criticise or say something silly.
I will try to do neither!
but will speak with honesty and integrity.
And if you believe this load of bull,
You'll believe anything.
all the best .

Welcome!

In general, if people put up deliberately provocative posts they will get what they deserve - and there is plenty of that!

Genuine requests for help will invariably be courteously (and hopefully informatively) received.

There are some people who lose sight of what this site is all about and Kim evicts them after much debate. This is fortunately a minority (2 or 3? - thought Steve101 was the first since Kurt Von Thadden but could be wrong).

Treat is as a source of information and have fun along the way.

Welcome
The last couple of weeks has been unusual to say the least!
If you are genuine and ask reasonable questions you will in the main be treated well. We often have the more "fun" questions and a livley debate takes place,,,,join in ,,you'll enjoy it!
BTW, are you by any chance one of the following?
Expert in
ColRegs
Marine law
Diesel engines
Flags
Fishing inc pots/nets/trawls
Boat purchases
Electronics
Navigation
Marinas
Flotilla sailing
General cruising
If you answer YES to any of the above then you are VERY welcome.
If however you support the PWC lobby (Jet ski's) then may I respectfully request that you keep your head below the parapit whenever possible<s>

Thanks for the welcome.
post very tongue in cheek .As I sure you need a sense of humour
to post on these notice boards.
Eco Warrior wasanother one who got the chop,
Also notice anons come in for a bit of stick as well.
Mind you . it is a bit like peeping from behind the curtains.
But you have to respect peoples wishes,
Especially where privacy is concerned.

I can concur Mike, there's wealth of experience to be drawn from on this forum: as a newcomer to the 'art' of sailing, I've found it of great use, (though you have to sift out some of the bias!). The past few weeks were indeed lively (re steve101), but I have to say it was also quite fun at times. Sadly, it appears he went well over the top, and it had to (rightly) come to an end.

Well
not wishing to blow my own trumpet, But then again if I don't nobody
else will, Think I qualify for most of what you suggested , Even the
wife reckons i'm very opinuated, what ever that means!
But I say this in all sincerity,
I HATE JET SKIES. sorry about the shouting .
And any other anti-social b-gg-rs spoiling my day.
Should fit in well here,

You don't want to come here at night
there be beasties out there ... drunken beasties at that

my only advice is that if it is real technical go to PBO rtor page
here you will get advice and bit of gentle ragging
so bring a sense of humour
if you go over to the dark side donot slag off pauline b she will eat you.

the recent stuff was the exception rather than the rule.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me sir without adding, you're making a scene.

What on earth do you mean?
About paulene that is ,
do you think you should have said that?
Rather you than me , When she reads it .
Think it needs explaining!
Hope I'm not stirring things up.
Thanks for the welcome and the warning,
Think I'v got a good sense of humour as well.
should be amusing ,
When she reads your post.

Bordello??????
How do get invited aboard a Riva ?
Sounds great to me !
Do they do just day trips or weekend stays as well?
Is there a charge ,or all services free,
Should I bring a bottle or several crates?
