I'd appreciate any guidance from knowledgeable folk hereabout. I am needing to specify a battery to power a bow thruster. The thruster manufacturer states the following battery requirement:

Please refer to the CCA rating. You'll see that CCA is given in both DIN and SAE rating. I've been in contact with Rolls Battery as their battery specifications simply states "CCA" and doesn't specify whether that be SAE or DIN. Rolls technical manager declared he didn't understand the SAE/DIN rating. So I've no idea whether the Rolls battery that I am looking at (CCA 795) is man enough for the job or not as specified: (700DIN/1260SAE). Has anyone else tackled this particular conundrum and come to a conclusion?

I've also learned, for anyone interested, that two batteries with say 600 CCA if connected in parallel will, very broadly, result in 1200CCA together. That's kind of obvious but I checked anyway! So CCA capacity is the sum of the battery bank CCA, rather like AH of each battery is aggregated for total bank capacity.
