Nothing boaty but my son wants his little motorbike working. Last time i used the car charger and wrecked the battery. How should i charge it 12v 2.4Ah battery.

What type is the battery ??

Lead acid ? Gel? NiCd ? NiMH? Lithium ? something more exotic?

Does it not have a charger specifically for it ? Available as an accessory??

What does the instruction book say ?

If it's been left flat for more than a couple of weeks it's probably had it. A car battery charger will be fine as long as you disconnect it after half an hour or so, and by then there should be sufficient charge to start the bike.

lead acid rechargable....it was 6v but upgraded it.

My old car has a 6V battery, but my 6V charger has died. Is it possible to drop the voltage from a 12V charger in any way?

Not simply by adding a series resistor if that is what you had in mind. However Google will find 6 volt chargers.

Halfords do a 1.25 amp 12 volt motor cycle battery charger.

But you upgraded it ?? All the electrics too I hope.

Can't you bump start the bike and run the engine to charge it up? (It's many years since I had to do this so please ignore this if it's bol****.)
