Welcome to the forum.

Your question is a bit vague. "Best practice" in what way ? Best way to change them, or best batteries to change them for ?

To change them, you remove the saloon table and pedestal, then the section of floor where the table was. Lift the floor out and the batteries are easily accessible.

Rag and stick boats may have batteries too .
Replacing a battery is the same process regardless of the type of boat.

I think, reading between the lines (of cheek), it’s perhaps being asked what set up you have now. With regards to how many batteries, what AH and how they are deployed or used too. As in, does it have a split charge system or a more simple selector Switch etc etc. This info would help I’d say.
