Have not seen a basking shark for about six years.

The last one was swimming alongside the boat, maybe touching it. My boats 35ft, the shark was the same length.

Course it was just then that the battery in the camera ran out.

North Cornwall summer 2004. Must have seen at least 10 that day. These two came right up to the boat and circled a couple of times.

We see a load up here on the Clyde....now Howard Mckrindle has stopped harpooning them!!!very unusual to only see the dorsal fin out of the water......normally you see the dorsal fin flopping to one side as the tail fin flops the other side.....saying that every one I saw this year only showed the dorsal fin.......is global warming affecting their bouyancy????????
