There is an interesting article in the current MBM on hull antifouling but its outdrive legs and shaftdrives that are the most difficult to keep clean. Has there been advice on the forum about this problem as I find Int. Micron a waste of time. If MBM want to use a boat for similar tests mine is nearly for treatment. Dave.

Phew - I thought it was just me making a bad job of painting the outdrive... yup, i agree the Micron is a waste of money, brush, paint and time... have tried, 1 coat, 2 coats, 2 coats diff colours to see if 1 or 2 coats are better.. and nope, no matter what, covered in crud!

What other options are there? unless we buy Volvo own brand - made by who i wonder?

Ho hum, had to use it againt this year as she goes back in on Thursday so choices were limited!

Cheers,

Craig.

Hi!
I note that several antifoul manufacturers have a disclaimer regarding ali hulls, I wonder if the leg "metal" is the problem not the antifoul. could the heavy coating of say a Hammerite or similar paint and then the correct (anti-foul) primer and anti-foul make any difference? Just a thought.
