Arrived at boat yesterday morning to find our one large buoy fender missing - presumed pinched. Damn.

Met up with Jimi, Parahandy and Jimi's mate (John) at lunchtime who were moored up on a buoy outside Cowes. Jimi very kindly offered to share victuals so decided to raft up alongisde Glen Rosa. Crew managed to put round turn and two half-arsed hitches (a la Learner) on fender lanyard so damned thing promptly fell off and floated away downwind. As we were already tied up, decided to write it off rather than repeat hazardous mooring operation. Damn again.

Headed back to PS a bit later. Crew preparing lines and fenders etc. for lock approach and managed to drop one in the water. Not again! Starting to suspect a fender conspiracy. This time decided to retrieve it. Crew claimed he was testing my man overboard drill!

Exited lock to hear lock-keeper shout "Is that your fender?". Turned round to see fender bobbing in the lock. Unbelievable? Well - this one wasn't ours although I was tempted to claim it.
