Bad boy out on the Clyde.

Saw it as well. 26-27' heading for Kip or Rothesay.

He must have felt as if everyone was watching him through binoculars.

It is the point, the only point in the current crisis.
The sailor may have a legitimate business reason to be out. You don’t know that, I assume, but your assumption has assigned all sorts of ugly traits to the person.

Nonsense.

The only point in this current crisis is that well over thirty thousand fellow citizens of this country have died due to a lockdown that was initiated too late and not enforced enough.

And don't lecture me whether I'm assuming anything.

That's not the point. The point is he is the only person who is arrogant and self centered enough to say that he is more important than the rest of us and feels he can do what he wants.
I can't quite understand how going for a sail would make him or her feel more important than other people. I don't feel particularly important when I go sailing.

One day we'll look back and wonder just why so many adults all over the world were prepared to tank their economies for years over a bit of mass hysteria. The death toll gets published every day with morbid sensationalism. I'd be prepared to wager that the unreported deaths from other causes such as cardiac arrest and stroke would exceed it even on the worst days but it doesn't sell newspapers or give politcians a chance to look as if they're doing something..

Well once again a thread polarises.

It seems, as its a boaty forum, that there are those who go to sea in many ways that recognise when the going is tough, crew work together and bring the knowledge that the sum is greater than the parts. This has stood the test of time and works.

Then you have the windsurfers, jet skiers and onanists that dont really give a toss for anyone else or anything other than their own satisfaction.

Way of the modern world, I suppose.

Stay safe. (y)

I blame the alveoli. Treacherous turncoats, soon as they get a little bit poorly. Bah.
