B1's new boat

After months on tenterhooks; all is revealed - well from the front anyway.

Did your recent cryptic comment in a recent post mention "narrow" ?
So should one now understand that to mean narrower than the previous Legacy, and not something more sinister.....

Looks lovely, and there will now be more room in locks for other boats!

It's a decommissioned Fishing boat.

Values dropped after the quotas were reduced, and B! has been watching the market priced drop until striking with a nice low offer.

He'll be trawling the Cookham reach all November...

The irony is, Legacy has just been upgraded to 'A' pontoon!

Don't forget Cuchilo has stolen my Forum idiot crown, and seems to be doing a pretty good job too... :)

With apologies to TVs " Harry & Paul"

Q. "Do you think it's a tug.?"
A. "Looks like a tug, sounds like a tug, probably a tug"

"I'll put it down as a tug then!"

"Give us a tow, Tone!"

:)

Seriously though, bloody nice boat!

Great Little boat, B1. We were looking seriously at one (also the 25 Mariner) and the only reason we didn't was that we wanted a similar sized vessel but with a separate 2nd cabin. I think Hardys are the business. I really hope you have a great time with her; I wish youall the best.

Mike.

Not a lot of people know this. John Hardy of Hardy Boats is the same person who founded Shetland Boats in the 1960s who were for a long time the largest boat builders in Europe.

So we can't call him B1 any more, A1 doesn't seem to fit somehow.
Maybe Mr Gates will renumber the pontoons to fit.

I understand Kismet (Kismet Hardy.....) is going to Penton Hook over winter so there is enough time for Mr Gates to renumber the pontoons at Bray to ensure that B1 can moor on B1....

:)

Notice the Mariners.

Other users of the Thames may wish to pay special attention if they see this vessel coming the other way.
The owner of this craft has been known to have difficulties getting a simple marine radio to function corrrectly, therefore the prospect of the aforementioned skipper trying to operate a radar,a forward facing sonar and other electronic gizmos while fiddling with his Ipod, does not bode well.
Keep well clear.
Ps.and the boat is dead easy to identify as a cardinal Bray Marina sin has been commited,in that some of the fenders do not match.

Boat has never been near Bray Marina and not likely to be for some time yet. Fenders are on the 'to do' list (invitations to tender for existing invited) but need time to reflect and consider which pattern and design to adopt for maximum visual and practical acceptability. Apollo's views will, of course, be taken into consideration.

Your other comments continue to be a scurrilous slur on my integrity - especially coming from someone who managed to collide - yes COLLIDE !!!- with a bloody great island that was doing you no harm (did you ever get round to fixing the pulpit?). Hrumphhhh.....

No wonder you've not been seen cruising the upper reaches in recent times :D
