Azimut Magellan 43

She’s a beauty

Get your cheque book out J;) She'll really look the part anchored off Mr JCB's beach. Actually I saw the 43 at SIBS a few years ago and I was very impressed by the boat and in particular the solid build quality. Well worth a look

I’m saving up for a Absolute Navetta 52. Couldn’t spare me a few hundred grand, Mike?

If I scrape the hull on my boat I phone the local GRP guy and he comes round, makes the repair and charges me £100 or whatever. I assume that's not the case with a painted hull?

It is the same, since painted yacht used hardened type paint like AwlGrp or the Dupont. These two being the most famous at the moment along with Alex Paint.
Also paint fades much less then to gelcoat.

Colored gelcoat is a less work intensive exercise since the hull is out 80-90% ready finished out of the mold.
With paint they hace to refair it and apply pain again and especially with darker colors the surface has to be closer to perfection, since dark colored has a habit of showing mold sins much easier.

Anyways sorry for the OT
