interesting new boat from finland, 37" long with a single 300HP outboard they claim it can do 1.6l/Nm @ 25knots. Which is @ 40l/hour. I've never had a big petrol boat is this plausible?

Yes. A quick look at a Suzuki 300 hp gives fuel flow of 36l per hour at 3500rpm. I like the look of the 28 TTOP but the 37 looks stunning and well priced.

I am yet to see one in the flesh.

Really like the look of them but they were less than forthcoming when I asked for more details. Apparently they have a uk agent now but still got no reply from them.

Interesting design and idea. Would like to see one on the water

Can't comment on the consumption figures unfortunately, but I had a long hard look at the 28 in it's various forms at the Helsinki boat show. I really liked the concept. To me it makes perfect sense over a rib.

Yes, fascinating piece of kit. We're actually running it in a group test against the XO 250, Draco 27RS and Paragon 25 Ranger in the next issue of the magazine (May 2015).

Great news, lets hope sea state on test day will allow assessment of performance in more than settled conditions.

Its probably unrealistic to expect a cat C craft lacking the lateral stability reserves the tubes provide to a rib, to behave as well in choppy weather although accommodation/protection is on a different level.

I'll tell you now that we had the perfect test conditions of a flat-calm Solent but some very messy wind-over-tide stuff through the Hurst narrows and off the Needles. Certainly put all four through their paces and should make intersting reading.

Sounds interesting, hope the uk dealer is better organised to field punters than they were previously.
