I have a Raymarine Axiom+ 12 interfaced with ACU400, EV-1, P70RS and ST60 instruments. These are all in the cockpit where they are most useful to me. At the chart table I have an ICM Navtex V2. The ICM unit will display a rolling road with XTE, waypoint, course and wind data. Since I removed the old plotter, it just acts a whether station.

It would be quite useful to see the course data displayed at the chart table. The ICM unit is not connected to any GPS source, so each time it is powered up I have to set date and time. it is a reliable source of weather information, which I find useful, in addition to the usual internet based sources of weather.

I understand I will need a device to connect from NMEA2000 to NMEA0183 converter.

I have a Raymarine ST1 - STNG Adaptor Kit - E22158 to connect the ST60s to the Axiom+. It has a spare port (white coloured). I have a red/black cable with the white STNG socket on one end to plug into the Adaptor Kit and bare wires at the other end (R, B and W iirc).

Can I use this red/white lead and connect to ports 9, 10, 11 on the ICS box. If not what would be required?

I purchased the Actisense NGW-1 ST NG. It converts NMEA2000 to NMEA0183 with Raymarine STNG connector one end, 4 x wires the other end (bare, blue, white, black red). I need to connect this between the STNG network and the ICM NAV6 and I don't understand what wire goes where.

I have two options: -

  1. Connect the NGW-1 to the Raymarine ST1 - STNG Adaptor Kit - E22158, to one of the white spur connectors. Would I be correct in assuming that the MFD data, will be transmitted to this adaptor and can be routed via the NGW-1 to the ICM Nav6? The reason I ask is that this adaptor takes Raymarin ST data via the middle yellow connector, converts it to NMEA2000 and sends it to my MFD. I don't know if to works the other way, sending both ST (instrument data) and MFD data out of the white spur connector.
  2. Connect the NGW-1 to the ST NG 5 Way connector.

STNG Adaptor kit would be easier as it is on the same side of the boat as the ICM Nav 6. What option would work, 1. 2. or both?

Connecting the NGW-1 to the ICM NAV6. My fear here is connecting it wrongly and damaging the Actisense device. The ICS NAV6 will be a listener only. I do not know what wire from the NGW-1 goes to the ICM Nav 6. Below are pictures of the two devices: NGW-1 data out wires and ICS Junction Box for input wires.

I think I connect the NGW-1 to ICM NAV6 as follows: Blue to 9, White to 10. The rest I would isolate. However, this is just a guess.

Can you help advise what goes where?

The end result is that the rolling road cross track error and wind data will be connected. Later I am going to buy a pressure sensor for the STNG and it will show value and trend graph on both MFD (I think) and ICM NAV6. I assume that once I connect the NGW-1, the STNG pressure sensor data will just transfer to the ICM NAV6.

Any advise appreciated. Thanks.
