I went for a sail yesterday single handed. I have an Aussie built Catalina 25 with a swing keel. The boat's moored in a creek with a sandbar to cross, so I go out with the keel up then autohelm to wind the keel down and put the sails up.
This worked fine and I had a great sail but when I put the autohelm back on to get some lunch it died. I had to lash the tiller to get the sails down so pretty inconvenient!
It turned out the fuse on the panel had blown and it was only a 3 amp glass one.
Does anyone know what amperage it should be? Seems a bit small to me.

5 amp or 12 amp depending upon which version you have, original with compass rose dial, with round buttons or with square buttons.

You can download the manuals from https://raymarine.app.box.com/s/nwf2s5ha9xrltggghogu/1/720704863

Thanks Vic. It's the one with square buttons.
The manuals link doesn't work. I have tried googling for a manual but can't find one!

Its a 12 A fuse then

The link , which is to an index of obsolete tiller pilots , works for me but it's a bit odd after that.

Go to AH800.pdf and click on "Download" or right click on it and select "download".

Otherwise start at the home page http://www.raymarine.com/ , select the support tab, then " manuals and documents". Scroll down and select "retired / legacy product documents", then "Autopilots", then "Tiller Pilots" and you should get the index referred to above
