I have an ST2000 autohelm and I'd really like to be able to steer to a wind angle not just to a bearing or waypoint, I don't think it's possible, is this option lurking in the future??
We have the autohelm ST1000 and it is possible to make it steer to the wind - if you plug in the seatalk connection from the wind instrument ... seemed quite complicated keypresses to turn on though so I haven't bothered
If the tacktic has a method of outputting suitable NMEA sentences then via a seatalk interface box (mentioned quite a few times) it should be possible. - see page 16 of the PDF (26 of the printed manual)
the 1000 autohelm takes a wind input so surely the 2000 should ???
just be carefull using it in crowded waters, the wind shift, so will your course . . . ..
