I'm not wishing to argue, but surely this forum has proved the ideal place for NickC to air his grievance ( I am one who takes him at face value as the injured party ); where else could he draw attention if the club committee has chosen to close ranks ?

is that ' most people here aren't on the east coast ' or

' people may choose another club after seeing this ' ?

Hi Robert,
Im a 51 year old forum member, spent a year on the forum and found it fab. Ive watched this thread for several months and in the end had to comment over what I saw was absolute bullying and behaviour with intent to hound the person referred to as nickC.

I don't know Nick, never will, and don't know anyone else. Ive been disgusted by the actions on this thread, and actually the whole forum seams to have the potential to create forum trolls, who seam only to latch on to threads such as this. Its so sad when you then consider the age of forum members and the level of intelligence clearly evident. The forum is outstandingly interesting with great topics and im sure a beneficial tool to many.

Just to bring back Floyd again, whey does he feel the need for the topic to fall of the page. I understand where hes coming from, Id like the thread to help nickC with his fight. remember im not saying Nick is right or not. But this is NickCs thread. not Floyds.

Oh by the way, I know you mean no ill intent, but im not a character. I have come on this thread simply because its an outrage how some of the people act. To Floyd, I m no academic, no not massively successful, yes ive taken some hits, but really what has gone so wrong in your life. your successful, articulate, and your only point is to get self gratification from deformating peoples characters.
If you need help ask Nick, I bet he would help as would most people in life. this forum has far more to it than the few sick people attached to this thread. Id like to clarify a lot of people looking at this thread do so for similar reasons as mine. they are appalled by a few, one stands out more than any of them. I repeat you could change in an instant, no one would hold a grudge.

I've read this and the other threads from Nick and I must say I have sympathies, the outboard saga was an absurd joke but as others have said we've only heard 1 side of the story so I may well end up being proved wrong and personally I'd have simply moved on if I'd been in that situation but each to his or her own.

Well done, very well written. If you'd have written with such fine grammar on the brokerage thread you may have got a better response.

I'm afraid we both share something in that being on here for 12 months doesn't eliminate us from suspicion of being someone else as this dispute started before then.
But as you are trying to come across as reasonable I would be interested in you assessment of the posts where I genuinely tried to help Nick by pointing out the errors he was making by refusing to attend a meeting with the committee, and his reasons for doing so. My reward was to be accused of being an under cover member of the committee and standing my ground, I was insulted. I wonder how you justify the insult?

Nick claims to just want an apology and to be reinstated by the club. And yet he constantly insults them by suggesting they would stoop to such depths as misrepresentation, just to avoid making an apology. His latest one was very recent indeed. Hardly an olive branch?
And what about his suggestion that a member of the club is an ex police officer who could use his contacts to have people's browsing and emails monitored? Another insult to the club or is it a perfectly normal judgement to make and I have it all wrong?
His suggestions seem a bit disproportionate to his ambition to get a simple apology.

I have a suggestion: What this thread could do with is two people to do summaries of this thread to date; one putting the case in support of Nick, and of course, another one putting a contrary view. The latter to be a constructive assessment of any errors, not a boll*king or more slagging. As someone who has yet to have his pedigree questioned you could be the ideal person to put the case in support.
I am automatically eliminated from the running to put the case against for obvious reasons and so is anyone else with "previous".

there is no discussion taking place here, just accusations, allegations and mud slinging ...

I'll make one last suggestion to you - ask the mods to lock your account on here and go and find something a bit more productive/rewarding to do with your time.

Thank you for link. I read it all.

Way I see it someone tried to add £250 "tax" to new mooring. They got caught doing it. Everything else just be trying to cover up they got caught.

Floyd, give it a rest, we all know what you are up to.

Every time someone posts the truth (or in fact anything either constructive or revealing ) Floyd tries to hide it by spouting a page worth of balderdash so the original post gets relegated off to the previous page. Only downside is that in doing so he keeps bumping this thread back to the top of the forum.

He seems to have an aversion to the truth being revealed.

Perhaps it was Floyd who stole the money from the mooring chain? Is that why he is trying to bury the truth? Did he really come all the way down from Leicester to do that?

Lets see if he can refrain from attacking this and CaptP's message above.

Well I think you need to consider when someone raises an an issue that they really feel has hurt them, outside opinion, whilst being asked, is unwelcome, Sometimes!!!. Im sure you meant well, personally id have given my view or opinion, and left it alone.
I don't know why Nick did not go to a committee meeting, without falling of your chair, I suspect he felt uneasy, not guilty, perhaps a waste of time. As for police, or any other conspiracies, yes they do exist, I now as ive been part of uncovering one myself. Its on the parliamentary ombudsman website, it found the government guilty of significant maladministration and lead to criminal fraud investigations for millions.

What I can tell you, A club is full of men very similar in character to this forum. forget being personal , the forum is pretty bad actually. kid ourselves as much as we like, the characters and mentality are very evident. So taking those views which are mine in to account, it would be so easy to visualise a group of miserable old men would turn on another over nothing. How sad is that. It would have hurt me.
So rather than polling for Nick, or having an online trial, as adults try to understand what was the cause is really not the issue now. If they were grown rational men, they would not have thrown him out, they would have been understanding. So think me of being weak, but im not. can we stop the ill feeling, either support nick, or give sensitive advise not aimed to be confrontational, or go our own way.

Very sensible suggestion but without genuine acknowledged input from the committee, the club members or the other owners of the boat, it would, at best only be a discussion involving oneside's impression on what the truth is based on Nick's posts, versus the otherside's impression of what the truth is based on Nick's posts.

It is a rambling thread full of hotair, tit for tat bitching, etc, half truths, really bad grammer, puur spellings etc..... but beneath the surface it is not " Much Ado About Nothing" it concerns an individual and his interaction with a club where he feels he was expelled wrongly, whatever else that is, it is not an ado about nothing...

Thank you for the acknowledgement. I realise the limitations but at least it would be yet another attempt to get Nick to realise the errors he has made in his quest. So dare I even suggest it could be useful???
