I am taking our sailing catamaran across the Atlantic and need 3 crew. Setting off from Lanzarote, plan to land at St Lucia. Going very late November (after the ARC, not part of it) it'll take about 16 days for actual trip, probably 3weeks away from home in total if last time is a reasonable guide, so you should be home for christmas. Big safe newish (2006) and fast boat (49 foot privilege 495) it should be good fun too.

Right well fatipa has booked himself in, so I suppose I am now looking for someone really rubbish at sailing and very very ugly indeed, to make me and fatipa look good. You also need to be ok about eating burnt and/or uncooked food cos he says he is rubbish at cooking too. Yes, that's right, this transat thing is not so easy after all is it hm?

(actually, fatipa has done oodles of transats, this boat has done two transats inside 6 months and i've done one of those, so it should be fine, honest)

If this trip is definate I would like to come along. I will need a few days to sort things out before I can say for sure. However I have to tell you I am a bit of an Adonis.

If you do storm across in the trades, and have a couple of days spare (see if you can beat 14 days, achieved by some friends on a 40' Maracuja cruising monohull some years ago), please do stop at Barbados on the way to joining the rabble in St Lucia - we are a much nicer island than them really!

Hi TCM,
I'm really interested - and also love St Lucia! I posted the following message a few minutes ago:
"Bloke in my 50s, married, discovered sailing far too late in life but am seriously hooked! Sailing for just 2 years with 1200 logged miles on cruisers and a couple of race boats - just back from cross-Channel race. Day skipper theory & practical, SRC radio, RYA radar, First aid cert. Located in Yorkshire but very happy to travel almost anywhere for a good sail with good company. Still a novice, but enthusiastic, and can cook! Looking to sail with an experienced skipper. Can do almost any time (providing I can find day care during the week for my Border Collie). Email me direct: mikeshortyorks@blueyonder.co.uk Am away 6-16 July sailing Hebrides and hoping to land St Kilda - will get back quickly to any messages received."
If you think I might be the person you are looking for - please get back to me on the email address above. Do tell me more about the trip and the crew. I am presuming this is a non-commercial costs-shared basis trip - is that right?

Hey, are you still looking for crew then? Just wondering, are you leaving from Lanzarote Essex, or Lanzarote, Spain? Or another one altogether? And are you planning on stopping anywhere on the North American east coast on the way? I've been looking for a transatlantic trip for ages in hopes of getting home to Nova Scotia that way. It's probably a long shot but thought I'd ask anyway. Cheers!

Hi - Would you consider me as crew. Female day skipper. Currently single handing, very keen to have a decent trip with a mega party at the other end.
