Atkey Winch

I have been given a pair of these which came apart ok after a little work. There is not much wear on them apart from the springs of which only one (in the picture) is OK. I guess the springs are bronze (??) and I would be grateful for suggestions on where to find replacements. They are 3/8" diameter x 1 3/8" long I expect 1 1/2" or so when new.

I also have to make some handles which looks simple enough but I would be interested to know what the originals would have looked like if anyone has a picture they can post.

Have you spoken to Pascal Atkey in Cowes about spares or handles?

You could probably find a suitable replacement in RS. They've got a range of springs in SS - chances are you will find one the same size. Could try Farnell, too.

Both suppliers have websites - easy ordering and good online catalogues.

BB -The Pascal Atkey web site doesn't mention winches at all but I could give them a ring. MF -Thanks for the suggestions - I'll have a look.
