Have the Netherlands followed Belgium and sensibly adopted VDES?

I think they were going to this year, which puts Marinas on Ch31 (RNLI only in UK)

I had my handheld reprogrammed for it. Don’t bother as you probably won’t use it. For marinas just turn up or phone them. If you do need to use the radio it will still work and nobody will care.

I had my handheld modified too. I have an idea that on the very few occasions we felt the need to call a bridge I completely forgot about it and used the main radio. So far I have had no repercussions, but I think most regular visitors get their VHF set for ATIS. Inter-ship radio is nonexistent over there, and many bridges have a fixed intercom on the waiting pontoon, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

The Netherlands marina vhf channel 31 is duplex (must not be used in UK waters). The private RNLI vhf channel 31 is simplex (usually labelled 37A). They are not the same. If you get ch31 added to your vhf before heading to the continent do ensure whoever does it uses the correct frequencies.
