I'm pretty sure it's a Norfolk Gypsy. Which are beautifully made (and rather expensive) little boats.
As I remember they'd just gone onto a starboard tack and I was keeping an eye on them as I'd been overhauling them for a few minutes and expected them to tack earlier which would have put them above me. As it was they lost way during the manouvere and I surged past.
We weren't as close as you may think. It's a longish lens.
I think it is very pretty, as are many MAB's. I admire those who have such craft.
However, I do not think I would have either the time or the inclination to own one, as the maintenance time and poor sailing performance would compare badly to an AWB.
I don't think its a Norfolk Gypsy (I used to have one). The high peak of the gunter rig on those boats is more like an extension of the mast, than it seems there.
Crikey you Raggies must be a bit thick.
That's No. 62.854.
They've built that many of em and you don't know what it is?
Even I Know it's not the same as the other one. The raggie bits are a different colour, dead obvious to Me.
Going back to Mobo chat.
Bit brighter peeps on there /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
If not a Norfolk Gypsy, could it be a "Secret", homebuild boats designed by Derek Ellard here in sunny Queensland but kits now licensed in the UK (and advertised inthe back pages of Classic Boat etc)?
