Arvor 18 prop size

Does anyone have an Arvor 18 with a nanni diesel 50 hp engine here on the forum? A customer went out on his and lost his prop.Seems it just fell off!

If anyone has the size of prop required and the nut size, I would be most grateful.

Many thanx for reading

Why not just call or email the factory. They are still in business though I think the smallest they build now is a 20 footer.

Google Castle Marine and you can download free a copy of their Propcalc programme. Feed in the details of the boat and engine and that will give you a guide. You can then get quotes from suppliers asking for their recommendations. It is best to use the recommended prop from your supplier because they will be responsible for correcting it if it is wrong.

Suggest you speak to Clements Marine. They are probably one of the most experienced suppliers of MOBO props.

Funnily enough, someone I know lost a prop off an Arvor somewhere on the Crouch. At low water he took a walk across the mud and found it ! Might be wrong - but it might have come off somehow due to the lack of anode protecting it.

That's interesting...

When we came to the boat, the prop anode was gone so we put on a new one with new bolt to hold it too.

When the boat came out, with no anode/prop, there is a bit of the keyway left in the shaft and it seems to be badly corroded. Wonder if it is either a bad keyway, or electrolysis though the prop was antifouled when we last seen it, no pitting or flaking antifoul either.
