Does anyone have knowledge of any visitor moorings in Christchurch River suitable for a 14m motor boat? Are there mooring buoys or pontoons anywhere?

Maybe they should do something about dredging, would give us another 'destination'.

When I first moved house to Lymington and was investigating local mooring options I talked to a couple of people who were in Christchurch/Mudeford. I got the impression that there was a bit of debate between those that want dredging and a marina versus those that have shallow draft boats and are content with the double high water to meet their needs. Seemed to me that the "stay as we are" camp were on top, bit like the debate about building a bridge or a tunnel to the Isle of Wight!

I think the deciding factor comes down to cost at the end of the day. Dredging, and bridge building, is extremely expensive and incurs ongoing costs. The government is certainly not going to fund it and commercial enterprises have worked out the income will take several lifetimes to pay back the capital cost. Neither will ever happen.
