Are there any good restaurants in Cherbourg?

We have always struggled here. Lots of moules/frites and some very touristy places along the waterside, but so far we haven't found any of the really good restaurants that France seems to have so many of.

The one at the marina is ok, but there must be better.

Do we need to venture further out of town to find great food in a good setting?

was really impressed with restaurant in marina this time - new management trying to make it work. Good food and surrounded by bottles that you can purchase. Not the yacht club place on top of Captitiniere but on way in on left.
Its not Gordon Ramsey but was a pleasnat surprise and not too far to stagger afterwards
