I remember reading about a chap who was sailing round the U.K. single handed. After a period of about 6 days he decided to have a night ashore.
After a period of about 4 hours, being ashore made him feel so disheartened that he went back to sea . He then felt fine again.
The trouble with single handers I think is that we should 'put ourselves about a bit' more than we do.
But there again, we get so attached to our little ship's that they tend to provide all the company we want.
