Broker said they are offering huge discounts on new boats and may be in trouble. Can that really be true?

Last year they laid off a good part of their workforce due to slow sales ( down by 1/3).
I happened to talk to an importer (not Beneteau) the other day and he said that after the boom of the COVID years sales dropped off a cliff, not just French boats but generally.
