I have got one of these poxy things and it does work when i give it a good kick.
suspect that you need to take to bits and clean out last seasons muck.Prob full of soot.Need to clean glowplug wossit and little ignition sensor thingy.
Think the company went tits up and was sold to ??????? who deny all knowledge..I can however offer a genuine photo copy of a workshop(much thumbed and very creased) manual if you do refrain from chucking above mentioned item into nearest bit of seawater.

I hope I can be a bit more constructive than the first response to your enquiry.

The reason you experienced a problem of filling the boat with diesel fumes is because the unit must have gone through several start cycles before ignition was achieved. The fumes are a result of the excess unburnt fuel build up.

So why have there been start cycle failures? First check the white wire and crimp connector which goes to the igniter. If this is not in perfect condition, replace it. Then remove the igniter, clean it thouroughly and re-install, ensuring a perfect electrcal connection. These steps appear to have permanently cured my unit where the wire terminal and wire were in poor condition but if neither of these result in perfect first cycle starting, then the igniter probably needs replacement.

Don't bother Oldgit, they must be the worst heater ever made. I spent hours and hours trying to get mine working properly, spent loads of dosh and eventually got so fed up with it that I gave it away!

Now have a Mikuni, has never missed a beat, quiet and produces more heat.

mine looks quite good enough to be in the Tate modern,It is laid out in all its glory on the floor of the locker it shares with my spare bits of rope entangled with its wiring.I find that pokeing the relays a couple of times with scewdriver will sometimes provoke a destroyers worth of smokescreen follwed by some barely detectable heat 5 hours later as you are about to go ashore.

I disagree. After replacing the igniter wire with suitable high temperature PTFE coated wire and a decent terminal, our has been absolutely reliable, very effective and much quiter than Eberspachers and Mikunis. But then it was decently installed in the first place and is in a nice and dry location. I'm distressed to hear that even more boats are turning to these awful heaters with "roaring" exhausts which noise polute our marinas.

Roaring exhaust?

My Mikuni has a silencer and is far quieter than the Ardic ever was. The boat next door would be hard pushed to hear it.

Old hand and Old git - Many thanks for your thoughts I am now going to try your suggestions - If this fails to achieve a satisfactory result I may seek a copy of your workshop book - as the devise is only 3 years old I really want to try to get it to work properly .Many thanks -mjt924
