Apelco GPS

Have an Apelco GPS, type GXL 1100, which has given me good service. However the aerial has packed up but the receiver is perfect. (tested it on a friend's boat).
They are no longer being made. Can anyone advise or assist?

I had one of those too. On this model the main GPS receiver and processor is monted inside the aerial so if your areal is no good, this bit inside you cabin has very little value. I recommend you do what I did and throw it out and replace it with a new GPS (I bought a Garmin 128). After using the Garmin I was surprised at just how pathetic the old Apelco unit was and throwing it out was, with hindsight, very wise.
