I see someone jumped off the bridge a few days ago. He survived.
The tide is still making

'Predicted' HW Menai Bridge on the day was 13.00.
However I was on the day at Siliwen boat yard (near Bangor) at 13.40 when high water actually occured!
The water reached me mates shed door on the beach
Wasn't supposed to!
Not for the 'predicted' height.
Anyway, went home over tother bridge so missed the rampant rib!
But apart from that.
If the bit of the Cardinal was wet just above the waterline, it would be going out.
Don't forget the water flows that way about 1.1/2 hours before HW Menai Bridge.
And continues to ebb in the same direction

Predicted HW 12.19, Hactual HW 13.40, the place gets dafter and dafter!
Remind me to chuck me tide tables tomorra!![]()
Actually it was the boys from the Merseyside Fire and Rescue on a boat handling exercise.
3 rescued from the water by the Beaumaris RNLI. Insider info says it was there own boat with their own trainer...

HW on the day was 13.00
Slack water was 11.30
This is why this area is confusing as the slack water is only when the water from both ends are pouring in at the same rate, it then stops coming in over the bar and starts to flow in the other direction still rising for approx another 1.30-2.30 hrs. It dose'nt stop flowing in that direction until it's time for the tide to come back over the bar, when it confuses us all once again!
I use the 2hrs before HW Liverpool as my timing for the area. Once you have sorted out what happens with the tide in this area the only other problem is the sticky up bits ?? but Kwacker knows all of them.... by personal touch so to speak!![]()
