Anyone manage to get Visit my Harbour charts working with Android ?

The app developer tells me he is working on an AIS overlay, i live in hope......

Somewhat of a thread drift but the way that apps are priced doesn't do much to encourage a developer to do any development at all; I paid c. £5 for Marine navigator 4 or 5 years ago and that buys me all the new versions on all my Android devices. If I was an app developer I'd do little development to existing apps but rather bring the developments out under a new app name - and get paid again.

I agree, and think that a lot of navigation apps will go bust in a few years. The main problem with VMH is despite their attractive charts and pricing that it is a royal pain in the axxx to download and update. Their chosen Android app is not so good either. Both are well meaning, but give the impression of hobbyists. VMH charts on a better app without having to jump through hoops to download especially on multiple devices would be better. However, I am not an IT hobbyist and just want something that installs at the click of a button. I am most happy to pay for that.

I use MX Mariner as my preferred app (though I have Navionics too). I wondered if you could use the VMH charts with it - MX used to have a detailed webpage which told you how to use other charts, can't find the instructions now,
Anyone tried to use these charts with MX Mariner?

Resurrecting an old thread.

I was slightly concerned by the experiences quoted here so, before committing, I contacted VMH for their feedback. They assured me that today the process for Android is very easy and straightforward. I've duly bought the Marine Navigator App and downloaded the Raster charts. True to their word it was simple and took no time at all. All I have to do now is learn how to use the App!

As a, relevant, aside, I've now learned that Android (Google Chrome) does not support Adobe Flash but that it's extremely helpful to have it to view content on the VMH site. After a lot of buggering about, downloading Firefox and searching Adobe Archive I've managed to get it working. What a PITA these competitive Operating Systems are!

Good to hear that you too find the latest VMH chart download to the excellent Marine Navigator app easy to do. I am just waiting for the MN trial AIS overlay to become a in-app purchase so we get full AIS and the developer get more income therefore ensuring longer term support.
