I was up the Mekong delta a week ago, and the boat traffic makes the Solent look deserted.

There are these great little boats that come out to you and sell food to go, such as exotic soups, baguettes filled with wonderful things (if it tastes good don't ask what it is). All this is done by single person holding onto your boat with one hand, the other preparing the food, and the tide sluicing out at about 4 knots. Makes our yottie antics a bit tame.

Ah, the Mekong delta. It was a bit different during my tour in '67...

Sailed in to Tangier last month- only foriegn yacht tied up. five euros for the night and an armed police guard thrown in for free!
Wonderful place for short stop- hired local guide- 7 euros for the day and walked off our feet around the city. Police and immigration very friendly and the whole thing just a days sail from Gibraltar.
