Wind off the Naze very strange today. We came over from the Swale in about 18kt NNW wind, which held until we neared Frinton. Then (this was about 1300) it banged round to the SE, good-oh I thought, but then it dropped to almost nothing. Crawled along to the Naze, whereupon the northerly banged back in again at the original strength. Tired and cold by then, engine on...
