the kindle ap is free however. zillions of free books. several website will send you a daily email alerting you to which ones are free today. some real classics, and many good 'uns

is there any way of filtering out all the religious content?!

Down on the left there is genre selection. I only got free science fiction and fantasy from there, no real world religious content, just that you would expect for the books.
