I'd agreed to help out a friend and arranged to get his Profile lifted on a Friday afternoon, held in the slings and re launched on Monday so we could anti-foul it, it hadn't been done for at least four years so I was expecting the worst....unfortunately for me he phoned a couple of days before it was due out and said he had to work and as I didn't want to muck the yard about, and I'd booked the time off work I foolishly said I'd do it on my own.
What a mistake.....covered in barnacles end to end and the hull was a pig of a shape to work on....I think he owes me a big, big favour when mine comes out.

Lifted out and my heart sank

And that afternoon in she went

Just about recovered now but I genuinely ached from top (when I tested the integrity of the rudder with my head) to my toes.

And Sunday afternoon...note the see-through paper overalls, I didn't realise at the time.

My old man's got a Profile (aft cockpit). I usually leave him to antifoul alone - but this year I gave him a hand, an early 75th birthday present :)

I dunno about next year though, their is a lot of boat under their.........as you know :D

It did surprise me how much surface area there was, the worst thing about it was it was nearly all curved and meant holding the scraper/roller differently and constantly moving my less then racing snake physique around.

I think the most alarming point for innocent onlookers was when my see-through overalls split, revealing my "antifouling pants" which weren't in good repair, I then had to bind myself up using masking tape to stop everything falling out. :o What a treat for the ladies! :D

I take offense at being called sensible

'twas me that pratted around for 10 days trying to fix an ignition problem that turned out to be a kill switch nudged to the off position
