I asked this question some months ago, about the trim tabs. I got fed up each year removing marine growth.
The general opinion was most seem to antifoul their trim tabs without any problems, providing you leave an inch gap around the anodes if you have them. So for the first time this year I have giving them a coat.
As for the shaft I don't ever remember seeing anyone antifouling them.
