Hi Again, I know I'm pushing my luck, but here goes question 2. I have just purchsed a New boat (New to me anyway) a 2000 Rinker 180 Bowrider, the previous owner has had anti fouling applied to the hull, which I will never need as the boat will never be left in the water.

How do I get it off, as it really makes the boat look tatty.

Thanks

very difficult to get back to pristine shiny gelcoat, especially as the gelcoat will (or at least should ) have been roughed up with sandpaper before the first application of antifoul. If you really must remove it, then Removall is the best thing I know off for self application. But if cosmetic is your real problem, why not just apply a new coat of a hard antifoul.

You could have it slurry-blasted, or done with the new dry-ice method (see YBW earlier this year), but I guess that if the surface preparation was done correctly (ie roughed up badly!!) before the anti-foul was added, you will then need to have the bottom re-prepared and painted/epoxy coated to make it look "pretty" again.
I'd go for a hard anti-foul coat too, I think.

I have to agree with talbot that you probably will be better applying a hard antifouling, but do remember that you shouldn't put a hard antifouling over an eroding antifouling, so try and find out what is on there now. If you do decide to strip it we have been selling a product called "Strippit" in our shop and all customers have been really pleased with it to remove the antifouling as an alternative to Removall.
