The anti foul was on the boat alreadyIf possible download the safety info leaflet from the anti-foul manufacturer so that the GP knows what chemicals they are dealing with.
You were surely not dry sanding anti-fouling, were you?

Thankyou. I hope so.As far as I am aware, if you are sanding anti-fouling it should always be done wet, to minimise dust. It is nasty stuff.
I hope you recover quickly.
Just a question , have you had a COVID test since.Thankyou. I hope so.
No. Because the symptoms came on as soon as I got home the day i sanded the boats hull. No other Covid symptoms.Just a question , have you had a COVID test since.
Did you give a moment's thought to what effect there might be on anyone else's health who inhaled the toxic dust you created? No. Because the symptoms came on as soon as I got home the day i sanded the boats hull. No other Covid symptoms.
thanks for your reply

Hi my chest feels the same, it been 5 weeks now. Thanks for your reply I’m glad you recovered quickly.I did the same when sanding GRP, I should have bought a good quality 3m dust mask for the job intended, Instead i used a cheapy as i didnt feel the need to spend a fortune on a dust mask for one job.
Big mistake my chest felt like an elephant was sitting on me for a fortnight and coughing up sparkling white phlegm. Bogies where same colour.
I had to borrow my partners inhaler and breathing in steam from a pot with a towel over my head to loosen it up and it eventually went away on its own,
If you are of senior age and already have a bad chest i would definitely see your GP as a chest infection ontop of the crap in your lings could lead to something alot worse.
Ive now learned from my mistakes and a new shiny 3m mask with 2 filters is sitting in my toolbox for the next time.
Definitely see your GP then as i may stand corrected but im sure dust from GRP and such is similar to asbestos and can stay buried in your lungs for a long time causing infections, pneumonia etc, i dont think it as dangerous as asbestos but im sure it can screw up your lungs just the same.Hi my chest feels the same, it been 5 weeks now. thanks again
