Hi
Been looking on and off over the last couple years at upgrading to a Serie(s) 9 Antares (size up from my 760). The older 2000-2006 inboard blue ones (with the protective skeg under the prop) are what I'm looking at like the pic (not the later 9 or outboard ones).
They are quite similar to mine but a couple I looked at recently had issues that don't occur on 760s (and could be expensive to repair).
I wondered if anyone had any advice on the following:
1 - KAMD43P engine - one boat had the belts removed from the supercharger. Aside from taking longer to get on the plane could that have damaged the engine (running rich)? I was wondering if it really matters if 90% of the boat's usage is outside the SC band of operation (i.e. on the plane over 3000rpm or under 5knts in the harbour/pottering about).
2 - Side windows crazing - anyone ever replaced them?
3 - One boat's flybridge roof overhang above the cockpit was split open all along the rear edge - I think those roofs are balsa cored - is that repairable if water has got into the core? Or is the roof now knackered?
Any advice welcome.
The one below is just for illustration, not one I looked at.
