Another 'what tablet' question.

This is such a fundamental problem that we really need to hear from someone who has tried either the iPad with the apple pen activated or any other tablet where you can avoid the problem of wet touch screens.

For the OP’s “use case” of going in and out of anchorages using Antares Charts (ie 5-30 minutes) we use this exotic solution https://www.amazon.co.uk/Betron-Wat...s=iPad+waterproof+cover&qid=1573686650&sr=8-5
Works perfectly.

We are using to complement a primary chart plotter used for much longer periods.
If using a tablet for primary navigation clearly a more exotic case would be appropriate.

Consider at least a 32GB version! You can't use the external SD storage for navigation app like Navionics and Aqua maps

Are you sure? Can't you go into the app settings and move it to the card, or alternatively configure the card to be used as seamless storage?
I've not had this problem, and my tablet has a mere 16GB of flash, but with a large SD card.

I've got most of the west coast UK, western Scotland, northern France, and Spain and Portugal as far as the Balearics squeezed in there.
I don't use it for much else though.

Yes, I'm sure. There's a thread ( old ) about this http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthrea...ics-Can-I-put-downloaded-charts-on-my-SD-Card

Is this just a Navionics problem, I have not heard of it with Memory Map and I was assured when purchasing that I could have my chart library on an SD Card?

Sorry, I don't know Memory Map... I use Navionics and Aqua Map and they don't support SD card, so 16GB of flash memory is not enough for both apps and the US east coast coverage.

I have my Memory Map charts on SD card - Admiralty and Antares.

There was a glitch at one point doing this with some versions of Android, but an FAQ on the support pages gave a solution. If I recall correctly, one solution involved installing a specific file manager app briefly which fixed it - had to be the one recommended, not being a smart Alec and trying to use a different one.
