being as I am about to buy its engines... :)

cummins qsb 5.9

its a dutch, steel built, cruiser.
they do a few versions. Im looking at the 46 or 50 footer. weighs in around the 20 ton mark.
they also do and aft cabin which I am not too fussed about. would sooner have the extra space without climbing over the world.

and if it falls through, the cummins should be plug and play in my sunseeker :) (ok, i lied there but you get my gist)

its built for single or twin. choice is yours. I have a the offer of a pair of motors at a cracking price. I would want two...
the completed, welded hull aft cabin version of the 50footer gives change out of 60k Euro. fully welded etc.

Looks great, but why do you want twin engines? Why not stick with one and fit bow and stern thruster, hydraulic would be great. Or if you really have to have 2 engines consider a wing engine.

i reckon I can save my cushions.

I now have a pair of qsb5.9s with my name on. 380 rated.
just personal choice for twins. i realise lots of plus and minus points for single versus twins, but twins it is.
and if this doesnt come off, i have a cracking pair of motors to go in clymene.

Rob,

Can't you fit one lump and one wing engine with foldable saily type prop ??

Advantages are many, if speed ois not essential ... less maintenance cost amongst them ... and use hydraulic bow & stern thrusters for close quarter manouvering ....

Its just a personal thing Alf. single screw is more efficient and cheaper maintenance etc. I am currently still waiting for more feedback from the architect, who has been working on a more efficient underwater design to allow larger twins, faster, or more efficiency, by as much as 30%.
I did pose the question of the design, done in ali, but that would be a complete rebuild to allow for vast change in weight etc.

Good looking boat Rob. If you have the money, time and skills it would be a fantastic project. I'm looking forward to the build thread already. Have you a link to their site? so we can have a nosey.

stunning! way beyond my technical ability to fit something like that out but i would by a finshed product for sure!

keep us posted, this could be another fantastic "in build" thread!!
