Boat craned out about a month ago, astonished that anodes hull and shaft had gone, normally I crane out March time and although the anodes are rotten there is something left, was chatting to someone today who asked how much of the mooring is chain, when I told him apart from final connection to boat which is 2” nylon rope it is all chain he said that’s the problem, what do the forum wizards think please, could the mooring chain be the reason the anodes have disappeared.
Thanks
Keith

There must be a few million boats, including mine, that are moored with chain. Do all their anodes disappear?

They're sacrificial anodes, so they have corroded instead of the metal parts of your boat You didn't say what type of anodes? Were they big bolt on bond the hull types, prop shaft, sail drive, prop/hub etc.

Small anodes waste quicker

There could be a current leak problem internally, or externally,
Have you moored in the same place for years? What else is near by, boats, industry etc. Seems unlikely to be mooring chain as your cause

If it's a change I would want to know why. In Newlyn it is said to be due to welding activity on steel boats not earthed to the quay. Newlyn is notorious for this as well as gribble in the wood piles.
