Annoying diesel leak

I have a small fuel leak somewhere on my 1GM10 and it should be easy to spot, but of course I can't locate it other than it is at the engine rather than tank or supply. It's about 1 drip a minute plopping off the sump. Is there any easy way to locate leaks? Maybe a magic light or special potion? It's not a big deal but is cheesing me off.

I had a minute diesel leak on a 2GM I had a few ago, took ages to find but turned out to be a a small weep from the bleed screw on top of the engine fuel filter. It would not go by tightening, eventually had to get a new bleed screw and seal.

2GM20 - same issue. Needed new copper washers. They harden over time. They can (I understand) be softened by heating then dropping in water (I think... someone will tell for sure) but hey.. it's the start of the season... go out any buy three (one for now, one to drop & one for later) and you're laffin

To find the leak use coloured tissue - toilet paper is ideal. Wipe each diesel joint clean and absolutely dry. Run the engine for a few minutes. Use the coloured tissue to wipe round each joint. the tissue goes much darker in the presence of any liquid, and immediately reveals if there is a leak.

Thanks, that sounds like the way to go.

Get a tin of spray developer used for penetrating dye crack testing, clean the engine down, let it dry and spray the engine which will leave a fine powder on it, run up and any leaks will soon stand out, chalkdust is the other way to go.

Not sure I would want to risk chalkdust up my air intake, bearing in mind few marine diesels have air filters.
