And now...cool motorboats

Okay, we've done the "cool car" Top Gear thing. So what about cool boats? What constitutes "cool" in motoboating terms? Can anything not made in Italy be considered truly cool? I'll kick off with:

Riva Aquarama — classic cool

Buzzi FB55 — mentalist cool

Flemming 55 — cruising cool

Hatteras 60C — fishing cool

Thames Slipper Launches — gentlemanly cool

Princess V65 — Med cool

Botnia Targa 35 — allotment cool

Re: Alternative cool list

No way Tom, I'm sorry, a P65 is perfectly ok but it's not cool. Herewith alternative cool list

-Riva Aquarama
-Anything else by Riva
-Volga 275
-Le Grand Bleu
-Mang 108 but only with gas turbine
-Large boats driven/spannered/moored by owners, not captains, it's ok for the captain to be onboard, all that is required is for the owner to tellim to get lost for a bit. (viz Prince Al Wayeed, the 34m Valdetarro in Golfe Juan, our local boy TCM, etc)
-Wally Tender

Re: Not bad, but...

...Mangusta 108? Even with the gas turbines it's bordering on Stringfellow-chic.

Anything by Riva? What about the disgusting new brown 44 Riverama? Surely not.

Wally Tender — good one...very, very cool indeed

No point in running this thread, you've got 'em all here :)

But of course you could have the Glastron that featured in "Live and Let Die", or a Formula 26 (2 x 7.4ltr Mercs). I nearly bought a 1985 Bayliner Arriva in mint condition - now that boat was COOL and beautiful looking.

Re: Boat?

That's not a boat, that's a PWC with a 15-metre kill-cord
