I just came accross this Cruzeline...it must be the ugliest new production boat I have seen in a long time. No more to say about it...just LOOK!

Why oh why /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Ah,

.....and there Cruizeline 23 looks very much like your Westline 23!

They seem a very shoddy outfit! (Standard of website, descriptions etc)

Thanks for the clarity...the bigger Cruizeline is still damn ugly!

Cheers

Fools step in where angels fear to tread, so....

As a raggie with a large motor, I don't understand what it is that gets you serious professional Mobo guys so wound up ? What makes the product "ugly" ? What design features turn you off ? What's all the legal Swedish stuff ? Have they copied someone else's design ?

To me it looks like a small chunky motor boat with a sharp bit and a blunt bit, with a small sitting room in the middle on top.

Just curious as to what features ring your bell !

Well,

It is like comparing a 4x4 to a coupe car. They both get you from A-B, but the experience is different. Most people buy a 'power boat' because it is a bit of a toy. Therefore they want it to do the basics well but look good. When spending 200k on a boat you want people to admire it, not turn there nose up. Of course boat design is compromise, think Sportscruiser and Flybridge. Sportscruiser has to be swoopy and nice, and Flybridges do not. However recently people are designing sexier flybridges and even sexier sportsboats.

Sportsboats are about passion, the better looking the better the passion!

Sailing boats are just the same. Think Hallberg Rassy to Maxi.

So what does that mean?

I'd be delighted with either!

That the Maxi is sleek and attractive and built for power and pace and that the HR is a little more portly and made for longevity, surity and quality! Some think HR's are ugly (do not know why though!)
