I rarely come here anymore, but this one I must post because it made me smile.

I came across it while discussing genetics, genomics and transposons.

It reminded me of how many nautical terms permeate our every day (and sometimes not-every-day) language. Funny. And interesting, to me.

I think that we may also display Anchoring Bias when we sail (or choose anchors!)

I didn't know the metaphor was also used in "Guitar picking" (not that I know anything else related either).

But I have come across it in document layout in which an illustration can be "anchored" to an item of text.
