Anchor windlass Ursus

I haven’t used my Vetus handoperated anchor windlass this year and due to the saltwater it has become almost impossible to move the lever back and forth.
Can anyone advise me to solve this problem

try copious quantities of warm fresh water to dissolve the salt, then disassemble all moving parts, clean and degrease, then apply some suitable lube and re-assemble.
