Anchor dragging problem!

I got a line around my prop so decided toa nchor and sort it out. I asked what was on the fishfinder depth and was told 25ft. On getting the anchor chain out and ready to drop the anchor it was apparent that the windlass had seized so I did not want to have too much chain out to haul in by hand so I said to put out 75 ft or 3:1 as a temporary stop. While I was messing with the engine I could hear us dragging and said to let out another 25ft but no improvement. I went to the depth sounder and looked at it and it was in simulator mode and the actual depth was 80ft. I think inexperienced crew had been looking at the fish spotting options and put it into sumulator mode which was very realistic.

think yourself lucky, you could have hooked a very large fish dangling that hook in the water.
